About Dr. Roy
Born in 1960, Dr. Purnendu Roy established himself as a distinguished surgeon. He excelled in his MBBS and MS (Surgery) from JIPMER, Puducherry, and further secured his FRCS degree from England in 1987.
Following his international training, Dr. Roy gained valuable experience in various hospitals across England. He served as a Senior House Officer at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, and participated in Surgical Rotation Training at South Cleveland Hospital. After completing his FRCS, he honed his skills as a surgical registrar at Scarborough General Hospital in Yorkshire.

In 1991, Dr. Roy returned to India and embarked on his successful career in Kolkata. He initially served at Kothari Hospital for three years, before joining Duncan Clinic in 1995 (now known as Apollo Gleneagles Hospital). Dr. Roy's dedication extended beyond private practice. He actively volunteered at Anandalok, a charitable hospital, where he provided free laparoscopic surgeries to a high volume of patients, performing an impressive record of up to 51 procedures per day.
